Why Should I Have a Photo Cover on My Book?
Can I use the images
for advertising and promotional material as well as the cover?
The prices that I quote grant you permission to use the covers for the life of the book, regardless of volume produced. It will also allow you to use the image for all advertising and promotional materials, as you shall deem necessary.
How do I choose what I
want on the cover?
- The first step would be to contact me. If you don’t have a concept, don’t worry. As I stated before, I am an artistic photographer. I will read your book and work with you to develop a concept for the cover. I have been told many times over I have a great imagination and once I read your book, I will be able to give you a concept or two that we can then build upon from there.
I already have a
concept; can you shoot it and create the cover?
- If you already have the concept, fantastic! Contact me and I will be more than happy to discuss it with you. Just for information sake, I include a first 50-page read of your book in my costs. This is so I can get a feel for how to do the colors, contrast, fonts, layouts, etc.
Why are your prices so
comparable to graphic covers?
How long does the
process take to create a cover?
- As a general rule the entire process takes about 4-6 weeks. This is to allow me time for concept development and final decision on the artwork, the time necessary to acquire the props, models, make-up artists, locations, etc., time for shoot, post processing, final edits and revisions, and then the final artwork.
I need a cover sooner
than the four to six week turn around time, is this possible?
- If you are in a time critical situation, contact me and I’m am almost positive we can work something out for less time (Yes, in emergency situations, I can go as short as a three day turn around time, ready for press)
Do you offer referral
bonuses?
- Yes. I offer a $75 in-house referral bonus when we design a cover and they give us your name. You can use that referral bonus on either a work in progress or for future designs. And yes, you can use more than one bonus at a time. So if you have 10 referrals to us and you are ready for your next cover, you already have a $750 credit towards your next cover. I love referrals and feedback!
